The day after Christmas – Reflections.

the forsaken cellar-lavander-logo

For some reason, this time of the year stirs our emotions. Perhaps, due to the spiritually or for having our family closer. Also, one more year on our shoulders threatens with new challenges and difficulties.

In my opinion, this is why we try to set new resolutions and objectives, which I do as well. Actually, I do all year long. In my case, I set professional and personal ones. Since I never have a drop of personal time, those are the most important for me, and the most difficult to achieve, I must say. Continue reading “The day after Christmas – Reflections.”

Why Write?

If you need some words of encouragement.

Well, what to say here? This is an article I wrote back in 1995 for no other reason than that it was the very first piece of writing I ever had published (3rd prize in a competition for which I was awarded the princely sum of £20). I’ve tidied it up a bit since then, but the text essentially remains the same

                             Why Write?

Why Write? An interesting question you might agree, but one with a multitude of answers. The same question could well be asked of those who follow other creative pursuits. What compelled Van Gogh or Gaugin to paint, despite their sufferings…

Poetry ~ “The Pact” by Tina McFarlane

This is a poem I love, by Tina McFarlane, you can find her on Twitter

I am the angel with tattered wings
The demon with a child’s smile

I own you
Bought for lies and wishes
Like charms on a chain
Around your neck

Which hangs like a noose

I whisper in your ear
Tell you that you are good
Lie to you and say
That you are special

You sit on your throne
Made of bones and blood
And on your head
A crown of angel feathers

BOOK REVIEW – “The Boneyard Chronicles” by Cyprian Wyrmwood – Sci-fi soaked in extreme horror scenes.

BEWARE. **VERY** STRONG MATERIAL. Not for the easily offended.

“The Boneyard Chronicles” by Cyprian Wyrmwood is one the most impressive books I have read. In a good way, a very good way.

When I took the book, I didn’t expect what I found. The beginning is amazing, a flash introduction to what you’re going to be drowned by, followed by a horror tale you won’t be able to put down. The story grows in suspense and “nightmare” as Wyrmwood whispers the events in the bottom of your mind.
The author tricks you, makes you think you’re diving in one dimension but it’s all just… an illusion. This book… soaks you in a grey/spine-chilling/terrifying feeling you can’t escape from. You are different, you are perfect. – Real tips for those who are lost – Mental Health Awareness

THE FORSAKEN CELLAR_mental health awareness

I work with many different people and I can observe a big percentage of them are broken, depressed, lost. Negativity floods my feeds. It happens when you get out of all that “Be a shark!” “Set your goals” “Be the best, the King/Queen” “Success, Money, Success!!!!” kind of material shaped as “Inspirational” quotes, “successful” bloggers’ articles, business tweets etc.

That, might be useful and encouraging for some kind of people who need a push to achieve and accomplish what they consider success in their lives, but for others, it’s just an opaque veil to cover non-resolved emotional or mental issues, which provides them with a load of “failure” feeling, guilt, low self-esteem and the consequent abandon, confinement and ultimately —depression, under the motto “I’m not good enough.”

This auto-destructive process is due to several reasons: Continue reading “You are different, you are perfect. – Real tips for those who are lost – Mental Health Awareness”

“Beware Of The Monster” Zone

THE FORSAKEN CELLAR_beware the monster area

We, old fishes, are fed up of untangling hooks.
Giving up on desperation leads you to a free way of emptiness, ice and coldness.
Disappointment sharpens your need for loyalty and sick devotion.
Anything else is bullshit.
Darkness impregnates your organs like a thick, warm, slow venom… blinding your sight with a black parade of disturbing ghosts and anxious demons. Continue reading ““Beware Of The Monster” Zone”

Don’t Forget About Me

the forsaken cellar_dont forget about me

Obsessions are the thick sticky warm petrol of our mind. What makes our thoughts stick together. That pleases our sanity, increasing the feeling that we control what we think. What we do. What we destroy. Oh… dear.

Please tell my sister to gather off my things, I feel exhausted. I won’t ask you for rest… do you have some water? My lips are so dry… I barely feel my tongue, it’s difficult to talk. Continue reading “Don’t Forget About Me”

I know, I know.

I’m not a ‘talker’, I’m very silent, but I observe. And I observe a lot of despair, sadness, loneliness. I observe many people sharing anguish, depression, hate. Constantly, every day. You know, when I was young I used to be an enraged person, harsh, absolute. But life… ah, life, shows you the way. In the most unexpected, hard, hurtful, disturbing, demolishing ways. Why not? beautiful ways. Continue reading “I know, I know.”

A filter for quitters, a fence for the scared.

THE FORSAKEN CELLAR_cover image_A filter for quitters

She said she didn’t feel the galaxy outside, because her mind was chaotic enough as to get lost into.

And growls, howls, aches. Crawls, yells, cries. The mud is thick and your energy tears off.

And the obscurest night demolishes any kind of doubt. Continue reading “A filter for quitters, a fence for the scared.”
